In this way, DESY contributes to solving the major questions and urgent challenges facing science, society and industry. With its ultramodern research infrastructure, its interdisciplinary research platforms and its international networks, DESY offers a highly attractive working environment in the fields of science, technology and administration as well as for the education of highly qualified young scientists.

The CMS Quantum Computing group develops generative machine learning models for detector simulations, specifically the simulation of showers in calorimeters. Proof-of-principle models were successfully developed with methods of Quantum Machine Learning.
In a consortium with industrial partners, these existing algorithms will be implemented, further evolved and new algorithms developed in a full-stack mode, from the hardware through the middle-software to the higher algorithms.
